Master Collection: Goh Beng Kwan X Photo Phactory

"I perceive my life and career as waves in the ocean – there is always a high after every low. Just as one door closes, another will open for me. I am very fortunate to have been able to live my life dedicated to the making of art.” – Goh Beng Kwan, 2018

It’s been an unforgettable experience creating the Master Collection in collaboration with Mr. Goh Beng Kwan. As I write this, I’m reminded of my first meeting with the artist  and how we spoke about love for Singapore, our shared memories and experiences living here and out love for art. This collaboration has cemented Photo Phactory’s dedication and commitment towards showcasing Singaporean Art and Culture through its products.

Goh Beng Kwan is known for his abstract collages that incorporate materials such as fabric nails and paper, exploring issues around cultural representation, urbanism, and identity. We chose 4 of his paintings to create trays out of. His style is unique and refreshing with influences from the Nanyang style, Western styles of representational painting and Chinese ink painting. You can see all his works here

Photo Phactory was created with the intention of immortalising Singapore’s art and history. We started out by capturing various landmarks across the globe and then deciding to focus on Singapore exclusively. Some of our previous collections have focused on , Peranakan Tiles and Singaporean Shophouses. This is our first direct collaboration with an artist and we  couldn’t be happier with the results !

With our new Master collection , every owner is now an art collector ,the joys of owning an original Goh Beng Kwan x Photo Phactory tray are many! This is going to be a centrepiece and conversation piece for so many lunches and dinners and afternoon teas to come. When you own a photo phactory product, you hold in your hand Singapore’s heritage and history, a piece that can be enjoyed by generations to come.

Our trays are created with the highest quality material which allows to experience Mr. Goh’s work in all its exuberant details. The 4 different trays we have are emblematic of the diversity of his painting style. Each unique tray contains so many vibrant and vivid colours, why get one when you can get them all?

Happy Collecting!
